The Little Black Dress: The Answer to Most of Life’s Questions.
I’m a twenty-something gal living in the Southwest and I rather hug a cactus then give up my little black dress. I don’t know what I’d do without out my little black dress it’s always been there for me, hanging in my closet waiting to spring into action.
The LBD is a girl’s best friend; it’s what you wear when you just don’t know what to wear. For me the LBD is the answer to all my fashion questions. What do I wear to the job interview? The LBD! Just throw on a jacket over it, and heels and tasteful jewelry and you’re ready to go. What to wear on a first date?
The little black dress can handle the pressure, add fun heals and funky jewelry and you look both stunning and down to earth at the same time. Don’t know what to wear the first day on the job? That’s right, the LBD plus a cardigan and Mary Jane’s will help you fit into most any work environment.
The LBD should be a staple in every woman’s wardrobe, as long as you have one you’ll always be prepared. Over the years I’ve owned many little black dresses but I always go for the same type of cut. I have an hourglass figure so I tend to buy dresses that come in at the natural waist and fit freely around the hips.
I’ve owned more than my share of LBDs, and my favorites have been from Nicole Miller, Express, and the Limited. The beauty of the little black dress is you don’t have to spend a lot to look great. Almost every designer or brand features the little black dress.
When shopping I prefer to choose the simplest design offered, dressing up (or down) the LBD is the best part of owning one. It’s easy to make the LBD look completely different with a scarf, a pair of tights or a jacket. The possibilities are endless. I no longer fear the unknown, as long as I have my LBD I’ll look the part and will be ready for anything.
